On Tuesday, students interested in learning more about laws and court systems had an opportunity to attend an Illinois Supreme Court hearing on two cases at SIU Carbondale. Our students were among 800 other students from around the state to participate in the historical event. This was the furthest location south that the Court has ever convened.

Yesterday, the pesky leprechauns snuck into our kindergarten classroom. They destroyed the leprechaun traps the students had made and made a mess of the classroom.

The NAMI group was at Coulterville School on Tuesday, March 18 to discuss Mental Health and it's ok to ask for help. The students were very attentive to this presentation.

On Friday, March 14, our Bass Fishing Team participated in a tournament at Kincaid Lake. We were represented by Drake, Maci, Bryant, and Josh. They had a very windy day on the lake. Drake and Maci caught fish totaling 4 pounds 3 ounces. Drake had the catch of the day reeling in a Muskie.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025 students helped celebrate the Landmark Dedication located on the Coulterville History Museum grounds. Members of the Sons of the Revolution and The Revolutionary War reenactors came from throughout Southern Illinois to help recognize this event.

Students in Mrs Dyson's Local History Class have spent several days this quarter working at the museum to prepare for a Landmark Dedication to take place on Saturday, March 15. The sign is dedicated to George Rogers Clark's group of men who travelled from Kaskaskia to Vincennes to defeat the British during the Revolutionary War. On their way to battle, the group camped for a night in what is know Coulterville before continuing east. The dedication will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning. The public is invited to attend.

Coulterville Senior Beta Club traveled to Springfield for the Illinois State Beta Convention. They brought home five individual awards, as well as third place in the team scavenger hunt.
