“Rocking” in fourth grade!
Fourth grade is learning all about rocks. We kicked off the week reading a story, “Weird and Wondrous Rocks” and today watched a video about minerals (what rocks are formed from). To engage in the learning, we made minerals from Rice Krispies, marshmallows, nerds, M&M’s, gummies, and fruit snacks. Next week, we will continue the “Geology Kitchen” learning labs.

From history of our town (presented by Mrs. Dyson's class) to the U.S. Presidents history (presented by Jase Maynard) I must say the fourth graders have been super engaged with all of it this week! #learningisfun

Way to go Khilyn! Khilyn represented our 5th grade at the spelling bee last night.

When you have a staff member that loves her farm animals, you never know when one makes an appearance. Today, Jody decided to share some goat time with the students. They loved it! Thank you Jody for sharing them with us.

Coulterville Unit School District 1 is hosting Kindergarten screening on April 17 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Children must be 5 by September 1 in order to attend kindergarten. If your child will be attending kindergarten in the fall, it is important to schedule a screening time. This includes students who currently attend head start as we will have paperwork for you to complete. Please contact Mr. Weber, kindergarten teacher, to schedule your child's screening time.

Tomorrow is a fundraiser day for our seniors at Pistol City. Please visit Pistol City tomorrow and support our senior class!

Coulterville Elementary School "Young Authors" Conference was a great success! The Coulterville students had some amazing stories and were honored by receiving medals and certificates. Mrs. Hill was very proud of their writing accomplishments. Each student should be extremely proud and honored to meet children's authors and learn about the process of writing literature.
