Students should research a serial killer. They should identify interesting facts that they have discovered about the killer (ideas include, but are not limited to victim profiles, purposely leaving clues, Modus Operandi (look it up)), the serial killer’s profile (occupation, habits, family, level of socioeconomic status and education, prior record). They will summarize the interesting information in 3-4 well-written paragraphs using an appropriate font size; grammar and spelling are important. Students should be sure to summarize any information they have researched and should not plagiarize. Students should list the sources (minimum of 3) that they used and a 1 sentence summary regarding what information EACH source yielded. Citations should be in APA format. (Feel free to utilize the following websites: http://citationmachine.net/ or http://www.easybib.com to help format sources. Simply click on APA and select the source type. Students should also generate a list of facts about the killer's crimes, dates, places, names of victims, how they were killed and locations of bodies. They should create a graphic organizer that relates all forensic evidence obtained on the case. Also, include a puzzle of some kind (crossword, word search, unscramble the word) incorporating pertinent vocabulary in understanding this evidence and case, so that the average person not taking forensics could understand. (AT LEAST TEN WORDS). Students should use their research to create a serial killer cereal box per the guidelines shared in the project description and rubric.
